Hello, and welcome to my gallery! I am Ayeli, a visual artist, videographer, musician and miniaturist. Based in Mumbai, with roots originally from Kolkata.

 

My work is driven by a profound appreciation for life's beauty and complexity, deeply inspired by the belief that life in itself is a blend of beauty and tragedy, and it is within these fleeting moments that one truly lives. This dichotomy fuels my passion to perhaps freeze or capture life's such precious instants, before they slip away.

Growing up, I harbored a deep-seated fear of forgetting such moments, that make life worth living. It was during my annual family vacations across India, that my father handed me my first camera. This ignited an unrelenting quest to document moments in time, through my individual perspective. From the mountains, to the forest, and all the way to the sea, my wish is to observe the abundant and diverse landscapes and lifestyles, and document as much as I can through my work.

Today, I often find myself roaming through cities, villages and uncharted landscapes, capturing the everyday lives of people and the world around me. As a multidisciplinary artist, I do so, through the means of various media, clicking photos, painting scenes that speak to my soul, and expressing and exploring the untold stories through music and crafts.

In my free time, one might often find me hiking, traveling, exploring; or perhaps, devouring books, or immersing myself in the world of cinema and other visual media.
